Obituary for Peggy Sanders

Peggy Sanders
Peggy Louise Sanders, 86 of Yorktown, died Wednesday morning, July 26, 2017 at Signature Healthcare of Muncie. She was born January 25, 1931 in Bloomington, IN and was the daughter of the late Lawrence D. & Edna L. (King) Newlin.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She loved being with and caring for her family. Peggy owned and operated Peggy’s Beauty Salon in Muncie. She enjoyed painting, playing the organ, bowling and playing cards. Peggy was a member of Mt. Olive Community Church.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Cindy Gibbs (Mike) of Muncie; two granddaughters Amy Haney (John) of Albany and Heather Clawson (Dave) of Muncie; four great-grandchildren Nick and Sarah Haney and Dylan and Carly Clawson; two brothers Ronnie Newlin (Betty) of Fulton, MS and Bud Newlin (Esther) of Hooks, TX; a sister Rosemary Page of Granger, IN; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sanders in 2009 and a sister Geneva Tomlinson.
Funeral Services for Peggy will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Eiler officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon Saturday at the funeral home. A special recognition to Judy and Gordon Walker and the staff at Signature Health Care for all the love and care they provided. Memorial Contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Community Church with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
